|
William J. Rea, M.D., is a thoracic and
cardiovascular surgeon with a strong passion for the environmental
aspects of health and disease. Founder of the Environmental Health Center
(EHC-D), Dr. Rea
is currently director of this highly specialized Dallas based medical facility.
The center
also has a clinic in
Chicago, Illinois.
In 1988, Dr. Rea was named to the world's first
professorial chair of environmental medicine at the Robens Institute of Toxicology at the
University of Surrey in Guildford, England. He was also awarded the Jonathan Forman Gold
Medal Award in 1987 and the Herbert J. Rinkel Award in 1993, both by the
American Academy of Environmental Medicine, as well as named
Outstanding Alumnus by Otterbein College in 1991.

He was also named to the Mountain Valley Water Hall of Fame for work in the field of
study of clean water and, in 1995, he received the F.A.M.E. Award for pioneering work in
environmental and preventive medicine. In 1997 he was named International
Man of the Year and in 2002 Dr. Rea received the O. Spurgeon English
Humanitarian Award from Temple University.

published more than 100 peer-reviewed research papers related to the topic of thoracic and
cardiovascular surgery and environmental medicine.
Born in Jefferson, Ohio, Dr. Rea graduated from Otterbein College in Westerville,
Ohio, and Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He then completed a
rotating internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He held a general
surgery residency from 1963-67 and a cardiovascular surgery fellowship and residency from
1967-69 with The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School system, which includes
Parkland Memorial Hospital, Baylor Medical Center, Veterans Hospital and Children's
Medical Center.
From 1984-85, Dr. Rea held the position of adjunct professor of
environmental sciences and mathematics at the University of Texas, while
from 1972-82, he acted as clinical associate professor of thoracic surgery
at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He has also served
as chief of thoracic surgery at Veterans Hospital and as adjunct professor
of psychology and guest lecturer at North Texas State University.

Wm. Marcus Spurlock, MD is
a board certified Family Physician with a strong leaning to the
environmental aspects of health, disease and medicine. Dr.
Spurlock is one of the full-time physicians working at the
Environmental Health Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Spurlock also has a large expertise in Anti-Aging medicine
which follows closely the same thought processes as
Environmental Medicine. Essentially, illness = aging. If you
slow down illness, you slow down aging, and vice versa. He has
been a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine for
over 9 years, and he works diligently with his patients to
prevent illness. He plans to continue to investigate and help
his patients with optimal aging therapies along with
environmental treatment for his patients in that arena.
His fourth area of expertise is viral diseases, for which he has
been working for over 17 years. He brings a compliment of
additional professional services to the Environmental Health
Center – Dallas to make it as up-to-date and relevant as
possible.
Dr. Spurlock is a fellow of the American Academy of Family
Physicians, and a member of the American Academy of
Environmental Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging
Medicine.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Dr. Spurlock
graduated from the Louisiana State University in Shreveport with
a Bachelor of Science and Medicine and the Louisiana State
University School of Medicine in Shreveport with a Medical
Doctorate. He then completed an internship at Louisiana State
University Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. He held a Family
Practice residency from 1982-84 as a mixed program, rotating at
LSU Hospital in Shreveport, E. A. Conway Hospital in Monroe,
Louisiana, Veterans Administration Hospital in Shreveport, and
T. E. Schumpert Memorial Medical Center in Shreveport,
Louisiana.
From 1984-94, Dr. Spurlock had the position of associate
professor at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in
Shreveport as a Family Practice Preceptor in the Comprehensive
Care Clinic. He also was a professor and clinic physician at the
Viral Disease Clinic of LSU Hospital from 1992-94. He was the
medical director for two nursing homes in the Shreveport/Bossier
City area while practicing in Shreveport. Dr. Spurlock has been
on numerous hospital committees including the Executive
Committee during his tenure at hospitals in Louisiana and Texas.
He spent three years in the United States Air Force from
1984-87 as a staff physician in the Family Practice clinic at
Barksdale AFB Hospital in Bossier City, Louisiana. While there,
he obtained certification as a Flight Surgeon . |

Overberg, Ph.D., CCN (certified clinical
nutritionist).
Dr. Ron works with the
nutritional deficiencies associated with a specific diagnosis, or
with medications and their interactions. He also offers
alternatives to medication when a good, safe, and effective choice
is available.

Carol
Cole, Ph.D.,
is a "relationship counselor" who
approaches each session from the perspective of the person as a
whole -- the body in relationship to the mind, emotions, and the
spirit. She holds a Ph.D. and license in Marriage and Family
Counseling and a Masters in Communication. She is a member
of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and
